Our mission is to support the Asociación Matemática Venezolana (AMV) and the Venezuelan Mathematical Community.
Our non-profit organization strives to provide financial support to mathematical activities in Venezuela and to guarantee the membership of AMV in international and regional mathematical associations.
Projects we are focusing on
UMALCA & IMU
The AMV provides a link between the Venezuelan mathematical community and international associations such as the International Mathematical Union (IMU) and the Unión Matemática de América Latina y el Caribe (UMALCA). Due to the difficult economic situation of Venezuela, the AMV has been struggling to pay its fees to these associations in recent years; these obligations represent debt in an international currency that the AMV cannot presently meet.
Jornadas Venezolanas de Matemáticas
The Jornadas Venezolanas de Matematicas (JVM) has been organized annually by the AMV, in collaboration with national universities, since 1988. It is a scientific event that serves as a mechanism for recording and disseminating the results of the research in Mathematics carried out in the country. It constitutes a meeting forum for mathematicians and various professionals interested in knowing, analyzing, and debating recent developments in mathematical research. This important activity has been profoundly affected in recent years by the difficult situation in the country, which has resulted in the suspension of the JVM during the last three years. Plans for the XXXII JVM are in place.
